Developing the Rural Missouri Teacher Pipeline: An Opportunity to ‘Grow Your Own’ with NEE

June 9 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

As rural schools continue to face a dire shortage of educators, the Network for Educator Effectiveness is developing a rural educator pipeline project geared toward facilitating “Grow Your Own” programs for small, rural Missouri schools. We invite Missouri superintendents to join us for this session to hear about NEE’s vision for the pipeline project, which is based on a successful model created at the University of West Alabama and would include a two-year, dual-credit option to jump-start students’ journey toward becoming rural educators. Using NEE’s resources and network of schools, rural schools can develop “Grow Your Programs” that are more efficient and cost-effective than going it alone. Along with NEE staff, DESE’s Roger Barnes and Theresa Struemph will join us for this session.
