NEE Data Tool Platform Updates (July 2026)
NEE is excited to announce several enhancements to the NEE Data Tool platform designed to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and provide greater flexibility for school and district administrators managing evaluations.
Multifactor Authentication
Multifactor authentication (MFA) is now required to log in. After entering your email address and password on the login page, you will be prompted to enter a six-digit code, which will be emailed to you. There is an option to remember the browser to bypass the MFA each time a user logs in. This change keeps up with security standards to ensure your data remains private and secure.
My Teachers & My Principals
The My Teachers and My Principals menus have been redesigned with updated visuals and improved organization. These areas will now serve as the primary locations for all evaluation-related functions, including:
- Teacher Evaluations
- Specialist Evaluations (instructional coaches, counselors, librarians, speech language pathologists)
- Principal Evaluations
These menus are now organized by evaluation organizers for each position to centralize functions related to each tool. The goal is for administrators to have a more intuitive and efficient experience.
Changes to Status Reports
As part of the redesign, the Status Reports menu has been simplified. Rather than accessing all reports from the left-side menu, relevant reports will now be integrated directly within the My Teachers and My Principals menus. This change simplifies the menu options while making it easier to find the reports you need when completing evaluations.
New NEE District Administrator Role
We are also introducing a new NEE District Administrator role within the Data Tool.
Each district should designate one individual to serve in this role. Users assigned as NEE District Administrators will have expanded permissions, including the ability to:
- Rehire past employees
- Delete certain reports
- Perform additional district-level management functions
This new role will help districts manage data more effectively while maintaining appropriate oversight and control.

Expanded Observation Rubrics
Another significant enhancement is the addition of observation rubrics for all indicators, including indicators that have traditionally been considered not observable during classroom observations.
With this update, all indicators can now be measured using the observation report, providing administrators with greater flexibility and a more comprehensive approach to collecting performance data.
We have also added two dropdown fields to the observation report: grade level and subject area.
More Information Coming Soon
More updates will be coming soon. A few features currently in process are the ability to create Supervisor Groups (assigning staff to specific evaluators), upgrades to the Indicator Trend Report, and expanding NEE District Administrator abilities.
Additional guidance, training materials, and detailed instructions for these new features will be shared soon.
We look forward to helping you make the most of these enhancements and appreciate your continued use of the NEE Data Tool.
