The Network for Educator Effectiveness’ EdHub Library helps school leaders connect evaluations with data-informed professional development that empowers educators’ growth. The EdHub Library includes more than 500 modules for self-paced professional learning that can be used with individuals, small groups, or as presentations for the whole faculty.

The best part? Access to the EdHub Library is included in the cost of your NEE membership and is available inside the NEE Data Tool, which means all EdHub resources are available at your fingertips. It’s a powerful tool for school leaders to coach teachers by pointing them toward high-quality resources to help them develop new knowledge and skills.

If you haven’t yet fully explored EdHub, here’s what you need to know to get started.

Why use EdHub?

Perhaps a better question is: Why not use EdHub? If your school is a NEE member, EdHub is available to you as part of your NEE membership, and you can access it right inside the NEE Data Tool where you login to record evaluation data. EdHub gives you access to more than 500 modules to enhance professional learning. It’s a no-brainer. (Not yet a NEE member? Contact us for a free consultation.)

Additional reasons to use EdHub:

  • EdHub connects evaluation data and feedback with professional learning opportunities. It gives educators access to professional learning that is specific and individual to their needs.
  • The EdHub resources are aligned with the NEE indicators, which ensures a shared understanding of effective teaching practices across evaluations and professional learning.
  • EdHub includes modules that can help schools meet state requirements. For instance, in Missouri where NEE was developed, new teachers are required to complete the Beginning Teacher Assistance Program and all educators are required to complete annual dyslexia training. Guess what? There are modules in EdHub that fulfill these requirements.
  • EdHub includes video libraries of teaching in action. The Indicator Scoring Practice Videos and Indicator Exemplar Videos contain a range of grade levels and content areas and are powerful tools for seeing the NEE indicators in practice.

How do I access materials in EdHub?

Once you’re in EdHub, there are a variety of ways to access materials. The gold rectangle at the top of the screen offers shortcuts to popular and often-used materials. As you scroll down the page, you can search by:

  • Keyword. Type in a search term to see materials that are available.
  • NEE indicator. Click a NEE standard and then an indicator to see the materials that are available for the indicator.
  • Topic. Browse the topics to see materials available.

Once you find a module that’s of interest to you, click the title to open a page with a longer description and learning objectives. Scroll down the page to see the activities within the module and, near the bottom of the page, additional resources for that module.

Clicking an activity icon opens the learning resource. Click the play button to begin. You will move through the resource by clicking the Next or Continue button until the module has been completed.

How do I document my EdHub learning?

By design, EdHub is not prescriptive in nature. There is no mechanism to assign a module to another individual. Instead, NEE recommends that school leaders discuss with teachers and document the agreed-upon professional learning in the comments section of NEE’s classroom observation report. When a teacher has completed an EdHub module (or any other form of professional learning), they can complete a Learning Organizer that documents what they learned and how they will integrate their learning within their practice. The school leader can then review the teacher’s Learning Organizer and enter comments if desired.

Which EdHub modules should I get started with?

There are several great modules to get started with in EdHub. Here are a few we recommend:

  1. Using EdHub to Support Professional Growth: This introductory module will help you become more familiar with using EdHub. It explores the resources included in the library and the best practices for using them to promote teacher professional learning. Find it bookmarked in the gold rectangle at the top of the EdHub page.
  2. Building Instructional Skills: This topic includes 10 of the most-used NEE indicators, and each contains three activities based on a teacher’s needs for that indicator. The activities in this module are designed to align with a teacher’s scores during a classroom observation. Find it by scrolling down the EdHub page and, under topics, clicking the Building Instructional Skills topic. From there, you can click one of the NEE indicators and see the three activities for that indicator.
  3. NEE Beginning Teacher Support & Dyslexia and Learning: These two modules are designed to fulfill state requirements in Missouri. No need to pay for additional training or support – you can meet these requirements within the parameters of your NEE membership using the EdHub Library. Find each of these modules bookmarked in the gold box at the top of the EdHub page.
  4. Scoring Practice Videos and Indicator Exemplar Videos: Each of these topics is a comprehensive library of classroom observation videos organized by NEE indicator. They can be used for various purposes, including helping teachers become more familiar with the NEE rubrics and look-fors; helping administrators further hone their classroom observation skills; and seeing examples of highly effective teaching for many of the NEE indicators.

We hope you enjoy exploring the EdHub Library and experiencing all the ways it can support your work! If you have questions or need help finding a resource, contact the NEE Help Desk at 844-793-4357 or nee@missouri.edu.
