Social NEE-dia: School Spotlight – December
This is a continuation of a monthly series from the Network for Educator Effectiveness. We share the accomplishments, creativity, and good news of our partner districts based on schools’ social media activity. Our hope is to spread positivity and bring even more attention to the amazing work happening in NEE schools.
It’s the holiday season, and districts throughout our network are celebrating! Whether it’s a long-lasting tradition or a first-time event, NEE schools have found unique ways to bring cheer this year.
- Creative projects: 5th grade students at Dunklin crafted “Starbucks art,” 4th graders at Pettis County built a gingerbread house village, and 7th graders from Macon County created ceramic angel ornaments.
- Giving back: Through two fun-filled fundraisers, Ste. Genevieve Elementary raised almost $700 to help brighten the holidays for students throughout the community.
- Beautiful plants: The greenhouse class at Mexico High School hosted a poinsettia sale for the community.
- Sounds of the season: Vocal and instrumental students from Sedalia, Charleston, Smithton, Stover, Rolla, and Warsaw made the season merry and bright with holiday performances.
- Parades: Holiday parades are a cheerful tradition this time of year. Check out these pictures from the Macon County and De Soto events.
- Holiday elves: It’s the time of year when you might see elves out and about. At least that was the case at Hallsville, Jasper, and Otterville.
- Where’s Santa? It seems Santa doesn’t always drive a sleigh during this time of year. He was spotted behind the wheel of a school bus at Green Ridge!
- Celebrate the champs: While not holiday-related, students in Arnold (NE) have something to celebrate. Congratulations to the five-time NSAA Play Production State Champions!
While we can’t highlight everything going on during this busy season, we want to recognize all of the outstanding NEE schools for the work administrators, teachers, support staff, and students are doing each and every day. We wish everyone a joyous and peaceful holiday season!
Watch for our next blog coming in January as we move into the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year.
